Replace Impact with Hunter PGP-ATR?

I want to replace an impact sprinkler with the Hunter PGP-ATR. Reason: this web site makes it look easy to do it myself[:D].

Is it as easy as it appears to be? Are there any special tools required? My sprinkler guy charges $75 to do this--I would prefer to keep my money...Thanks!

Yep pretty straight forward, just unscrew the top, pull out the top half and screw in the ATR, nothin to it, I bought mine from sprinkler warehouse and got it in two days.

Replacing an ATR is simple.

Take out the sprinkler itself out of the canister, twist in th ATR, make sure the right trip is aligned along the road, sidewalk, ect. and adjust accordingly.

Great! Thanks. Do I need any special tools to remove the old sprinkler (Rainbird 15103 mini-paw).

Also, I assume I have to shut down the water supply before attempting to replace the sprinklers.

No you should not have to shut off the water unless you are making thses changes during normal watering times. Just go for it.
Thanks,

You might need an impact pull up tool. It is in SW's online store in the 'misc' category.
