Richdel 446PrI batterys keep going flat sprinklers wont sart?

Hi All

My wife replaced the 9v battery in the controller as the sations would not work within 3 days the battery was flat the timer is blank.

I checked the tranny OK, all station valves are 30 Ohms no shorts, the relay to start the pump is OK and no fuses blown.All pump and valve work OK in manual control.

I replaced the battery once more still it went flat.

Do you think I need a new controller?

If the controller has power, the backup battery should not drain.
