Valves -Rainbird DV series

My system = 13 Rainbird DV valves with 3-4 of the 5000 heads on each zone.

System was installed by a professional and lines were blown out last fall by him.

Turned on this spring-ZONES 4,6,10,11,12 worked by controller no work on ZONES 1,2,3,5,7,8,9,13.

RASTER Test Ok to all zone valves.

Turned DV valves 1/4 turn CCW and some or no water comes out of head.[hear water running at valve,sprinkler heads stay down]

28 volts to valves from controller[ok] Took valves apart and everything looks good. Hooked up compressor and the heads pop up with the valves 1/4 turn ccw. I am wondering if the professional used too much pressure and damage the lines or ?
Swapping good solenoids in position of bad doesn't help manual 1/4 turn or controller electrical operation.

Swap solenoids between good and bad zones, and report back.

Rainbird DV Valves

Swapping bad zone 1 solenoid with good zone 4 results---Zone 1 operated by zone 4 solenoid still bad. Zone 4 operated by zone 1 solenoid works. Not a solenoid problem,

There could be a blockage in the body of a valve - one way this is evident, is if a valve will operate by way of the bleed screw, but not by way of the solenoid.

Rainbird DV valves

Bought a new valve repair kit and put in new diaphram in valve 1 and it works now.

It seems odd to have this many diaphrams bad in one year. Anyone have a sectional view of the DV valve ?

What fails in them or do they dry out?

Rainbird DV valves

rural water system

Found a small split in the diaphram, [hard to see] Took apart valve 13 and that diaphram had a split too.[exactly same as previous] Question--blowing out the system for the winter with too much pressure cause this ? Age of system is 4 years and 8 out of 13 diaphrams bad at one time.
