quick but probably stupid question.
Trying to rehab an old system, 3 stations not responding. Checked for voltage at all 3 valves, and all 3 are getting 26V.
Thought the timer might be an issue, even tho its new, so tried different terminals for all 3, no go.
Valve 3- was full of water, turned off water, and it hasnt returned? Anyway, it has voltage, but no buzz, no sound of water...Nada.
Valve-6- Has voltage, same as 3, no buzz, no sound, no nada.
Valve 9- Had water in the valve, again, I turned off the water for a day or so, and it hasn't returned. When I first tested it by manually opening the valve, I almost had to take the solenoid completely off before it let water flow to the heads, and so it leaked a lot, but at least it was allowing water to flow...anyway... Let it dry out, and checked it today, and noticed that there is a small white collar of some kind lyin in the bottom of the valve housing...as well as a small screen w/ a cutout hole in it, and a metallic thing which I assume is a plunger. I dont have a schematic for the solenoid, so Im not sure how it all fits together? I was just going to replace all three solenoids to save trouble, but I want to make sure that these peices, (screen, white plastic thing, and plunger) dont have anything to do w/ the valve. Im a newb w/ irrigation systems (but im not a total idiot), but Im flying blind here.... Worth asking the question, if for no other reason than Im too lazy to think it through...haha...
