Main line PSI rating

I have 60 PSI static pressure and 11 GPM. Initially I was going with 160 PSI 1 1/4" poly for main line. Then while putting an order at local supply store the guy talked me into 100 PSI pipe saying I will be fine with it. They didn't have 160 PSI in stock.
Is 100 PSI rated poly pipe safe bet in my situation?

psi rating

Although I prefer pvc myself, as long as there is no risk of excessive pressure surges a 100 psi rated line should be fine.

Above one-inch, you more likely see PVC for a main, if it's under continuous 24/7 pressure.

As far as I know pressure is pretty stable around here. I might check out one other store.

PVC even for deep freezes?

depending on what kind of water hammer you will have, you might want to see if you can get 125 psi poly, just to have some wiggle room

we use 200 psi poly for our mains and 100 psi poly for our lats. pvc manifolds

I just found some 160 PSI pipe today and yes I got 100 PSI poly for laterals :)
Lets the work begin! Hey, I drilled the hole in the house to route pipe from the basement outside!
