Strange problem with jet pump irrigation

hello everyone, i have a shallow well with a jet pump used exclusively for the sprinkler system. I have no trouble priming the pump and can successfully run the sprinkler system and the pump will shut down. Sometime that same night, the pump will come back on, and for some reason pressure will build up and pop the 1" pvc male adaptor off the outlet of the pump spill a little water on the floor and lose prime. This is driving me crazy!

Loss of prime can be due to leaks on the suction side. Is the pump plastic, or metal?

You might lose the plastic fittings that thread into the pump, in favor of metal ones, which handle the heat better

faulty check valves can lose your prime
