Imperial Valet Line Plug

I've observed that the line plug on my Imperial Valet is 2-wire with no ground. Is there any good reason to retrofit with a ground? If so, how would you recommend that I do it?

There isn't anything to ground on the controller, even with a metal case. (old-school design)
