Nothing Happens, No Zones Working

Hi there.

Just yesterday I went to start the system for the first day of the season, its a Rainbird ESP-6TM with 5 zones, I put it in manual mode to just do a couple zones where I fertilized. Well nothing happened.

Prior to the manual start, I opened the supply valve to the system from the main line and closed the drain cocks on the backflow preventer, I know there is water pressure because I forgot to close them at first and water shot out. So I have the main line to the system open and the ball valves on the backflow preventer I don't believe have ever been touched, so they are in the open position.

I guess I will try to manually open a valve if I can find one, to see if water is getting through....to me it seems like something real simple, the controller has power and seems to be fine, I just think something might be preventing the water from reaching the system...any ideas would be much appreciated.

Valves on the backflow preventer are usually open when the lever is parallel to the pipe it is on; in other works, does not make a "T"

Yeah I figured that to be pretty much standard, I guess the real test will be to manually open a valve to see if water is getting downstream.....I know water is going through the preventer as it discharges at high pressure through the drain line, just not sure what is happening after that......a quick glance at the controller wiring does not show a master control valve if I am correct, I believe all I see is wiring for the stations and a power/common....

Find a valve and also check that current is getting to it. My Toro valves vibrate slightly when open.

May not be applicable to you, but I had alot of trouble with my Toro controller in trying to set it to run a zone(s) for testing purposes. I finally figured it out but it was difficult.
