Run Times

How do you guys set your sprinkler timers?

Do you set each zone to run for 20 minutes at a time for say a spray sone?

How about rotor zones? 45 minutes for those zones?

Do any of you cycle your programs?

With rotor zones it depends on the nozzles used. I make sure that my watering gives 1 inch of precipitaiton per week. This would be true for rotors and spray heads.

So Ray-

Do you cycle those long run times? OR, Are you watering each zone 25 and/or 40 minutes long in one shot?

You'd be much better off cycling your zones. A spray zone should only run for 8 minutes max and a rotor zone for 18 minutes max. It will take 3 to 4 cycles to apply the right amount of water.

Please explain your theory for cycling the zones. With my system I water .25 inches with the 75min time.
Thanks,

Pete
