Which transformers....

I use a model RB1 (Hugal and Hoile) which appears to be a rebadged 6 or 8 (rainbird) station controller that I purchased some time back (about 5 years) and a tenant decided to cut the transformer off and toss it away. He is no longer there, but neither is the transformer and where it clips into the controller (it is a bank of about the solanoid wires and the power connection which looks like it say 24V). Does anyone know of what I can get away with (I am sure tandys will have a transformer, if I know the correct Volts and Amps). Any suggestions will be appreciated.
