Main line poly pipe repair
I have a leak where my main line (black poly pipe) is attached to a one inch grey elbow (part of the manifold) in the valve box. My question is; can I get the black poly pipe off of the barb fitting of the elbow or will I have to cut the poly pipe.
I just had to do this about 10 minutes ago.
I'm under ideal conditions: office, all tools, workbench, etc.
Short story: I ended up cutting the poly pipe.
I don't have a heat gun and that might have made the difference.
Propane torch to heat it up. Not too much or you will damage the poly
I used a heat gun and the elbow came out of the poly pipe. I found a split in the elbow (not sure why after four years) and replaced it. So far, so good. Thanks for your responses.
