Best way to fix nicked irrigation wire?

While digging around the yard, I managed to hit the sprinkler system pipe. I also managed to nick a white wire, which I assume is the common wire for the system. Any input on the correct fix in this situation? The wire is not cut, but the jacket seems to be compromised slightly.

Nothing really sticks to the polyethylene jacket of irrigation wire. "potting" it in silicone sealant might be best.
