Leaking sprinkler head(s)

To temporarily stop a leaking sprinkler head from flowing water across a front yard sidewalk, I capped it off and discovered the leak transferred to the adjacent sprinkler head. Subsequent research revealed cracked valve diaphragms so I replaced all three zone's 20-year-old valves with new Rainbird in-line valves.

The original leaking sprinkler head is back to leaking. What did I miss?

If the draining doesn't stop after a few minutes then there's a problem with the valve.
Maybe the solenoid isn't snug.
Maybe there's debris in the valve.
Turn the valve on with the bleeder screw to get any air trapped inside the valve out. Air can cause it to leak.

After I opened the valve with the bleeder screw and closed it, the water leak stopped after a few minutes. I guess this is just residual water in the line.

Your advice and assurance is priceless.
