Drip Irrigation Issues

I have a very small issue, but it is a mountain to a novice like me. My sprinkler system was installed last year and it have five zones - two zones have rubber lines coming out of the ground near the porches to allow for drip irrigation later. The rubber lines are just folded to keep water from coming out of them now.

My questions:

1. How do I connect to the hose that is coming up to put in my drip irrigation?

2. Should it be hose or pipe that is coming out of the ground for the drip irrigation?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

What size is this hose that is coming up? Also, what color or markings are on it? What part of the world are you in as well.......
