area valve does not shut off

one of our area valves leaked at the connection to the pvc pipe, so we replaced the pipe and the leak is fine. but now we can't shut off that area valve.
we have a battery operated system and i already tried to reprogram the computer, but the valve does not shut off. what and where is the problem???????
Thanks
P.

I'd bet that you've gotten some dirt into the valve and that is why it is sticking open. So... turn off the water supply and open up the valve. Remove the rubber diaphram and look for dirt/pepples/etc. Remove anything you find and close up the valve. Make sure that the solenoid is closed (should be a black cylinder looking thing on top of the valve).
