Kinda sounds to me as if there is a problem with the poppet in the PVB. Try following the steps to correctly seat the poppet and see if that will help.

Replaced PVB month ago. 7 other zones are 100% operational.
Is this te first time this year the system has run? Has your system / PVB been exposed to freezing temperatures?
Can either of you direct me to a few tips on how to troubleshoot the heads?
Boots is correct. The way the unit is designed to function is to create a gap (air gap) when there is a possibility of a back syphon-age. You may have a broken line or even some damaged heads. Check them all to see that they are working properly. you might even want to reset the back-flow device.

Febco 765-1. Can the PVB be adjusted?
What's the make and model of PVB? If the zone has a big enough flow, or a big leak, your pressure may be dropping to a point where some PVBs will vent water.
PVB, heads, line, or solenoid valve issue?
Have a zone with 5 heads that every time the zone opens the PVB breaks open. Not immediately after a moment or so of the zone pressurizing. All heads are operational or so it seems. 4 other zones with just as many heads if not more are 100% operational. Is there an issue with the solenoid the line one of the heads or the PVB.
I had the zone working fine and cycled the system 1 time and when this zone came back up it failed to operate and the PVB broke open again as explained above.
New to the sprinkler service thing.
Any and all help is appreciated.
