it makes sense, besides i wouldn't want the repair call to go with it.
Jimmy, It's basically a personal preference. I can name a variety of reasons why I don't like pre-made manifolds. I'm not sure you want to hear them all. What I've found to be my some of my best tools being an irrigation tech are, observaton and anticipation. I will name one reason why I don't like that Spears manifold. It doesn't matter that I've never seen one in person. Look at all the unions. Each one has the possibility of leaking someday. Much more than a simple male adapter screwed into the inlet port. I also think Boots is right.
The Spears manifold is really intended for use with male-thread valves.
it doesnt look very strong or it wont last long?

I've never seen a Spears manifold before. Personally I'd never use a pre-made manifold. I'm obsessed with my work not leaking and working on the first attempt. Call me anal. I did find your manifold online however. Just use pvc fittings. Their suggestion to use a female adapter on one end is a bad idea. Especially on a main line. Female adapters have a tendency to crack or leak if not tightened just so. That's reason enough for me to build the manifold myself.
Good luck!

Spears. It has swivels on the 4 ports and a male nipple on the end.
How to Connect 3/4" Valve to Manifold 3/4"
How do I connect the 4 port manifold to a 3/4 inch valve (075-DV)?
Can I use a reducing nipple on the inlet side?
Also what is the correct way to connect the outlet side? Can I just use a standard reducing adapter (MiPT x Insert)or do I need to use some combination of the manifold fittings.
BTW. I'm using 3/4" poly pipe.
Thanks
