My sprinkler system draws from an artesian well. The pressure is such that it leaks out the sprinkler heads all the time. I added a ten foot vertical loop to reduce the pressure. Still leaks. I have a valve on the outlet side of the pump. It has a tube running to the inlet side. It also has a valve on top. manually closing the valve helps but then I have to open it for the pump to draw.
