Need help with hunter pro c

I bought a hunter pro c controller for my about to be installed system. I chose this model due to it having 3 programs with up to 4 start times on each program.
My desire was to be able use one program for lawn areas.I wanted to have multiple start times in order to create a "soak" cycle. Meaning let the first lawn zone come on for like 5 mins. then 2nd lawn zone, then 3rd (all for just 5 mins.) then start again with zone 1 and let it run another 10 minutes, zone 2 10 mins., etc. Final round starting with zone 1 for 20 mins., zone 2 20 mins etc. This is to allow water to soak in gradually to ground to avoid run off and puddling. all of this to be accomplished on Program A. Program B & C are for flower beds and shrub beds respectively.

So my controller arrives, I break out the manual and begin programming. I get as far as set station watering time and realize I do not believe this is going to work. There does not seem to be anyway to program different lengths of time for different start times.

Am I doing something wrong or did I buy the wrong controller?

If I bought the wrong controller I'm kinda stuck as it is being insttalled this weekend. So would this controller work as I would like it to if I did the soak cycles for all 10 mins?

Any and all help appreciated.

The only way to program different run times on the same zones is to use different programs.....which you cannot do because you are already using the B and C programs.

They do make other timers that have more programs.....very expensive. I would just run 3 soak start times at 10 minutes each.

Thanks for the confirmation of my conclusion. I guess I should have done more research before buying. Although I would like to be able to do the soak cycle,I doubt that I would have been willing to pay big bucks for a different controller. Pro C seems to be good in all other respects.

The controller is a very good controller. You may wish to contact Hunter Industries. (www.hunterindustries) i think they came out with a new controller this year for your situation. A hunter representative should be able to help you. A controller with more start times isnt drastically more expensive. Id return the Pro-C and buy another!!
