Old Hunter System
Just purchased a house with a Hunter underground sprinkler system that has not been used in years. Grass actually grew over the heads. Upon inspection of the system (might as well have been looking at the Space Shuttle engine for all I know about these things), I was able to manually turn the water on. It seems I cannot control the valves from the automatic controller (problem # 1). I am not sure what part I should be replacing to regain this control. Next, I have to replace a Hunter G Type sprinkler. It looks like a PGP Adjustable Arc Rotor (from pictures on SprinklerWarehouse.com). Is this what I should be using to replace the sprinkler head?
I also have a burst pipe, hopefully only in one spot, but is there an easy way for me to spot this problem.
Any help or thoughts would be fantastic.

What is the model on the controller?
As far as the rotor, yes. Hunter PGP rotor are what you should replace your older ones with.
As far as the bursted pipe. Best help I can give you is to call a friend and ask for some help. You may wonder aimlessly around looking for some wet areas, or some areas with some disturbed soil. That may point to the leaks if there are more.

Thanks for your reply Josh. I will look at the different PGP models available and try to match.
As for the controller, I assume you are talking about the box where I can set the time of day to water and number of minutes per watering session. If that is correct, I have a WaterMaster 4 Zone piece. Not sure where I can find the controller model.

Buy a new controller, if the old one gives you any trouble. A Hunter SRC-600 is a good choice. As for rotor heads, you'll want to get the PGP-ADJ model, which can replace any of the old G-series rotors you have. Both available from the store link above.
