leak from valve at main

Question....

Firing up the sprinkler system for the first time this year. Went through the sequence of turning on the system (outside and basement)

When I turned on the water from the basement (main) tremendous leak and water backflow through the valve (screw type cap).

We did not winterize...........

What to do now?

Thanks[8D]

Get out your checkbook. Anything and everything could be broken.

1. repair/replace backflow
2. start system again
3. fix breaks after backflow...........
