blowout fails

I have a 6 zone residential system that cycles though nicely when water is present. When I turn off the water and connect the compressor for blowout it allows the air to flood all the zones at once making it impossible to blow out system. I have sucessfully blown out this system for several years.????

Thanks for any guidance

If the compressor rig is unaltered and the performance is unchanged, then you look at your zone valves, because they will behave differently on air than on water. What is the make and model of the zone valves. Include a photo if you don't know the answer.
