original zone runs nonstop after adding zones

We bought the home with a drip system in the front. Now that we've added a drip system in the back, and a water feature in the back, each with own valve, the original valve for front won't turn off until we turn off the water supply to the whole system.

I would suspect dirt or glue or teflon or rocks or any other debris got into that valve...

It could also be that someone turned it on manually and never turned it off?
