Rain Bird DVS 100 valves vs. DVF

A Rain Bird contractor told me DVS is better than DVF. Is it true?

Either Rain Bird DVF or Hunter PGV

Thank you.

The contractor also said that DVF has much more trouble than the DV in term of service. And by putting the DV in the *bed* (not quite sure what this means), DVF is not neccessary and DV is even better.

how many possible locations as where the valves can be installed?

The "F" in DVF simply stands for "flow control". This is a regulatory device which helps to adjust the flow to each zone specifically. This is helpful in order to achieve better spray patterns and water droplets at each sprinkler. Actually having flow control on a valve makes it more serviceable. I don't quite follow your question about valve placement. It sounds like the contractor you are dealing with is possibly inexperienced or is trying to pull a fast one over on you.

Beartooth, thanks for your help. I finally decide to go with the Hunter contractor because it gives me more spray heads than the Rain Bird one. The difference of head nubmer is 12, and rest of them are the same. 7 zones and with all commercial grade parts.
