Is there a way to tighten the valve screw? It started becoming loose and now the sprinklers dont stop.

Its easter so reticulation repairmen have all gone fishing. :S For the meantime, one area of my sprinkler system controlled by the valve with the loose screw continues spraying water. Ive been trying to tighten the screw but may have tightened it too mjuch. Now I cant shut at all. THANKS

For now, shut the entire system down, then come back with a photo of the problem valve.
