sprays and rotors on same valve

I have always heard not to put sprays and rotors on the same zone because they need different pressures to operate. Anyone know if this is correct or if I can put them on same zone?

Just don't do it. You heard right.
They operate at different Pressure usually 15 lbs difference.

They also distribute water at different rates, so the timing needs to be different for sprays and rotors.

Depending on your area if you need a sort of best of both world type application product try the Hunter MP Rotator.
