newbie........hunter pro-c transformer problem....I think

had some lightening strike a tree by our house and a lot of devices with plug in transformers stopped working, includng the sprinkler controller. I have a blank screen and when i check the transformer voltage I get 24v on one yellow wire and 0 volts on the other yellow wire.
My questions are should I be getting 24v on both wires?
If my transformer is bad is there any way to check and make sure the controller box itsellf is still good before I buy a transformer?
Thnaks...Joe13

Buy the transformer. If you can't stand the extra expense, then just buy a new controller that comes with a transformer.
