irritrol mc-plus problem

I have an Irritrol Mc-plus controller and am getting an error message. The message is ERR2. In the manual it says it is a hardware problem, and to take the unit in for repair, but I would like to try to troubleshoot the unit myself if possible. I already tried the suggested shut off 5 min test. I have 33 stations hooked up, so pulling the timer is not trivial. Also, is there a repair manual available anywhere.
