Artesian well flows constantly

My sprinkler system draws from an artesian well. The pressure is such that it leaks out the sprinkler heads all the time.

I added a ten foot vertical loop to reduce the pressure. Still leaks.

I have a valve on the outlet side of the pump. It has a tube running to the inlet side. It also has a valve on top. manually closing the valve helps but then I have to open it for the pump to draw. I disassembled the valve and the bellows is shot. It's very old, can't find parts. I've tried to find a replacement, no luck.

I have a four zone indexer valve (using three zones).

I considered replacing the valve with an electric one. The output side is one and a half inch, all the electric valves go one inch.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a free-flowing well, you should have manual shutoff valve(s) on it, besides an electric valve on the outlet side of the pump. Electric valves can be had in all pipe sizes.

Indexing valves are not intended to shut off a flow of water. Their purpose is to direct a flow of water to the appropriate zone.

Same issue

I have had the exact same issue; the problem is the hydraulic check valve (the part that has the manual closure and the tube) that is prior to the zone valves. Check with Toro for their 250 series hydraulic valves.
