Sprinkler head surging....

I have a dilema with one of my RB 5000 Plus head. I just noticed this today. It is on the last zone that turns on and it will spurt for awhile after the zone has been shut off. It will rise (push up) about 1/4 of an inch and it's is causing a puddles around the head. It leaks from the top where you adjust the water distance. I have the SAM filter on all of the heads on the zone, i'm wondering what can be the problem. Even after it finishes spurting, i still can see water flow around it like it is leaking. Any ideas..?

Do those heads have check valves? If so its not working- If not you should add one to the last head to prevent flowing after shut down

Yes...all (5) the sprinkler heads in that zone have a check valve (SAM). I'll try replacing that particular one to see if that helps my problem. I was afraid by adding check valves to all the heads that this might cause a problem.
