Small Radius Nozzle


I am just completing the hardscaped in my back yard and am now going to install a small section of grass. The grass area is a “T” that is about 20’X5’ at the longest leg and the cross bar is about 3’X10’. I was laying out the irrigation system and have found that I can’t find nozzles with less than a 6’ radius. I tried adjusting down one of the nozzles in my front yard and the spray pattern was so spotty that it would provide no coverage at all. The grass in the back is surrounded by a used brick deck and I don’t want it constantly flooded by overspray. I have to have pop up heads so the low volume products won’t work. Does anyone know a manufacturer with nozzles with a 3’ to 5’ radius? Or is there an alternative (Short of hand watering!) I haven’t thought of.

Hi, i'll try to help.

Although probably not right for your situation, low flow MP rotors fit on most pop up spray bodies.



You shoud check the selection at this sites sponser, www.sprinklerwarehouse.com. Look under sprayheads, and then look for strip sprayers. Here are the rainbird for example. http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/category-s/294.htm. Another solution is Weathermatic Brass sprayheads. Although relatively expensive, Brass is beautiful. Even patterns, and good at close in coverage. They come in quarter and half circle 3 foot diameters, which you shoud be able to configure to your space, and you really don't have a large turf area.

I use and have had good luck with the special pattern spray heads from Toro. Depending on your water pressure you may find a match that works for your lawn.
